Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group is a New York-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, it was sold to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran quit the firm shortly thereafter. One of the show's original "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in the entire 12 seasons of ABC's Shark Tank until today. She has participated in 53 deals since February of 2020. The most significant was a $350,000 investment to provide 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second of 10 children from a family of Irish Catholics who worked hard was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mother was an errand-taker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was a mover from one job to another throughout Corcoran's early years. Her family frequently relied on free food deliveries from a local grocery store. Corcoran remembers her father as one who sometimes drank too much and did her mother a disservice and sneer, especially when he was drinking. Corcoran struggled with her education and was eventually diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran went to a Catholic primary school within her area and started high school in St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran dropped a few classes during her first year, and then transferred to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
