Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actress, producer and director. She is best known for her leading role as deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded an Emmy Award in 2010 and a Golden Globe Award for 2007 for her performance as Johnson. The seventh season of the series was concluded on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick's role as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also notable. Sedgwick was nominated for a Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Her film credits include Oliver Stone's Born in July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Individuals (1992) as well as Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2011) are in addition to her numerous. Sedgwick was born New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who is a speech/family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick who is a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian and of English descent. Sedgwick claims to be Jewish and says she attends Passover seders.
